Many people believe it never rains in California. This is not true, although we have had very little rain this year.
California's climate is often compared to that of the Mediterranean, due to warm, dry summers, and mild, wet winters. On the coast, average yearly temperatures range between the low 50s°F and high 70s and 80s°F (26.7°C). Farther inland, summers are hot and dry, and at higher altitudes the weather is more typical of a four-seasons. Dana Point is in the southern California. It has never snowed here but we do get a little rain and lots of fog because our school is a less than mile from the beach.
